I used this name to describe the world. It literally means Earth-Sea, but Earth-Sea was taken by another writer, and I think this sounds cooler. It originated from me trying to work all the different drawings in my sketchbook into a cohesive world. I enjoy making both creatures and maps, as well as the idea of a futuristic world where ancient hyper-advanced technology mingles with primitive peoples and the idea of evolution and how it could change the world over such a long period of time.

Basically, I wanted an ocean that was trapped by continents, so I found a map of how the world might look in the far-flung future taking things such as continental drift into account. A struggle has been to imagine a world that far in the future with humanoids. After all, how long would we really last? The entire span of dinosaurs was less than a hundred million years, and according to the continental drift map, the world at the time would be two hundred and fifty million years in the future. To put that in perspective, our human ancestors at that time were little more than proto-rodents scurrying around during the night to avoid being eaten by chicken-sized dinos.

I will write up another short story on how we managed to make it there later on.

I found it on a search using the key word creature. I must not be the only one to think it was something. It was near the top of the Popular All Time Favorites.
